About
Juel Adriana Copeland is a proud Navy wife, mother of five children, and a classroom teacher for seventeen years. She holds a BA in History with a minor in Anthropology from California State University San Marcos and a Masters of Education in the field of Curriculum and Instruction through Western Governors University.
Juel is an Upper Grade Dean; she and Mrs. K work together to cover both our grades 4 & 5 campus and middle school campus. Not only is she an admin for Elevate but she is also an Elevate parent. Her specialized skills include student engagement, curriculum development, and leadership. She is dedicated to inclusive climate, individual student achievement, equitable access, and fostering culturally proficient and innovative citizens.
Juel’s individual accolades include being a 2021 Ford Freedom Unsung-Teacher Hero of Covid 19, the 2020 Teach for Innovation Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Teach for America San Diego, San Diego County Office of Education Profile in Power, and the 2015 Sony Teacher of the Year.
She is thrilled to be part of the Elevate family and to work with our forward thinking team of educators to continue to create a culture of excellence. In her spare time, she loves to be near the ocean, eat, cook, and practice gratitude with her family.
