Our English Language Development (ELD) program supports multilingual learners in developing the academic English skills necessary for success in all subject areas. We provide purposeful instruction aligned with California ELD and Common Core State Standards, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Our program embraces a growth mindset by encouraging students to take risks, ask questions, and learn from mistakes. Through scaffolding strategies such as sentence frames, visuals, and modeling, we guide students toward deeper understanding while fostering independence and confidence. We set realistic, individualized goals to ensure steady progress, and we empower students to take ownership of their learning. At the heart of our work is a commitment to honoring students’ home languages and cultural identities, while building their capacity to engage with grade-level content and become lifelong learners.
