K-5 Enrichment

K-5 Enrichment

In addition to core classes (English Language Arts, Math, etc.), students in grades K-5 participate in enrichment classes each week as a classroom cohort.  Enrichment classes are taught by teachers who specialize in the course content, and are always a highlight of the students’ week!

STEAM

Four students work together on a science project, connecting wires and a light bulb.

At Elevate School, the K–5 STEAM class is a place where curiosity flourishes, discovery is celebrated, and every student is empowered to explore, question, and understand the world around them. Rooted in the core principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, this classroom is more than just a place of learning—it’s a launchpad for young minds to grow into thoughtful problem-solvers, creative thinkers, and compassionate leaders.

Students consistently demonstrate excellence in academics, mastering key concepts through hands-on, inquiry-based investigations. Whether modeling the rock cycle, exploring plant and animal adaptations, or conducting simple physics experiments, learners are immersed in meaningful activities that promote deep understanding across life science, Earth science, physical science, and engineering.

These young scholars are also exceptional in leadership, taking initiative in collaborative projects, peer discussions, and school-wide activities. They are encouraged to ask thoughtful questions, test ideas, analyze data, and reflect on their learning—all while developing essential communication and reasoning skills.

The heart of the program lies in the exploration of science. Students are guided to think like scientists—observing, hypothesizing, experimenting, and drawing conclusions. Whether investigating natural phenomena, designing experiments, or interpreting results, learners build a strong foundation in scientific literacy and develop a lifelong sense of wonder about the world.

In this STEAM class, learning is not about memorizing facts—it’s about building a lifelong love of exploration, discovery, and purpose. Students leave each day feeling inspired, capable, and excited to continue their journey as scholars, scientists, engineers, artists, and future innovators.

Physical Education

At Elevate School, our elementary Physical Education program is designed to support the whole child through active learning, character development, and a strong foundation in physical literacy. Rooted in the California Physical Education Standards, our program helps students develop fundamental motor skills, fitness knowledge, and social responsibility through a variety of fun and engaging activities. We create a safe, supportive environment where every student can build confidence, explore movement, and experience the joy of physical activity.

As a proud Leader in Me school, we integrate the 7 Habits into every PE lesson. Our students learn to own their actions, set personal goals, and work cooperatively with others. The Golden Eagle, our school mascot, reminds us to soar with purpose—persevering in every challenge we face. Whether learning to dribble a basketball, participate in a relay race, or improve aerobic endurance, students are consistently encouraged to lead with integrity and a growth mindset.

Above all, kindness is at the heart of our PE program. We teach students that how they treat others, on and off the field, is just as important as how they perform. Respect, empathy, and encouragement are woven into every game, team activity, and classroom discussion. By promoting kindness alongside skill development, we ensure that Elevate students not only grow as athletes and leaders but also as compassionate members of their community. Together, we soar like Golden Eagles—stronger, kinder, and ready to lead.

Art

A child paints a colorful landscape with mountains, stars, and a moon.

Our elementary art program nurtures creative expression and visual literacy by guiding students through the fundamental elements of art—line, shape, color, texture, space, value, and form. Each project is aligned with the California Visual Arts Standards, ensuring a rich, standards-based curriculum that deepens artistic understanding and supports academic growth. As students explore a wide range of media and artistic techniques, they also learn to interpret and create visual messages, fostering critical thinking and communication skills. Lessons introduce students to influential artists—past and present—and the many career paths available in the arts. Additionally, the art classroom serves as a space for social-emotional exploration, where students can express their thoughts and feelings through creative processes, building confidence and self-awareness.
