Hi K-5 Elevate families,
As I kick off another exciting year of physical education for our Kindergarten through 5th-grade classes, I want all students to be successful in PE class. To stay safe, comfortable, and ready to move, here are a couple of things your child will need during PE:
Proper Footwear: All students must wear athletic shoes that stay securely on their feet and allow for safe movement. Crocs, boots, sandals, and slip-ons are not allowed during PE for safety reasons. Improper footwear could result in your child sitting out of PE activities.
Water Bottle: The beginning of the school year will be hot during PE. Staying hydrated is important, no matter the temperature. Please send a refillable water bottle with your child’s name on it throughout the year. I will be having a water bottle competition among classes throughout the year. I have extra water bottles if your child needs one.
“Water Bottle Award - Hydrating One Sip at a Time”
Sun Protection: You may send your child with a hat and sunglasses to wear during PE and recess. Those items will remain in their backpack during class time.
The beginning of the school year is hot. Please know we place the safety of our students above all else. On days of extreme heat, PE classes will be held indoors. Also, additional shade tents will be provided in the recess and PE areas when needed. We have water fountains to refill water bottles. Please reach out to me through ParentSquare if you have any questions or concerns.
We appreciate you preparing your child for PE. With your support, our Golden Eagles will soar!
