2nd Grade with Mrs. Favuzzi

Second graders have been busy exploring how people and places shape our world! In science and social studies, students are using their creativity and teamwork to build salt dough landforms, showing features like mountains, plateaus, volcanoes, and islands. We also explored the rock cycle in a sweet and memorable way—by using Airheads candy to model how rocks change through heat, pressure, and time! These hands-on projects help students understand Earth’s features and connect scientific ideas to real-world examples.

We’re also gearing up for our exciting Living Wax Museum in December! Each student has chosen a person of influence to research—someone whose actions, discoveries, or leadership made a lasting impact on history. Over the next few weeks, students will be learning about their person’s life and contributions, preparing speeches, and creating displays to share with families and friends. Our essential question, “How have our lives been shaped because of people of influence throughout history?”, guides all of this meaningful work as students discover how the past continues to inspire us today.

Dear Elevate Families,

We are truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity, kindness, and compassion from our school community in response to our recent call for support. Your willingness to step up and contribute has been nothing short of inspiring.

Thanks to your incredible support, we were able to cover the full cost of all of the boxes that were ordered, with enough left over to help fund a portion of next week’s distribution as well. Your donations met a need, and we hope to continue this important effort through the holiday season.

Your generosity is a reflection of the spirit that defines Elevate. We are a community that not only learns together but lifts one another up in times of need. You have shown our students the true meaning of empathy, leadership, and service.
From all of us at Elevate School, we thank you for being the heart of our community. We are proud and grateful to walk this journey with each of you.

With appreciation,
The Elevate School Team
