MIDDLE SCHOOL P.E.

Our EMS students showed strong growth in physical fitness during our mid-year testing, highlighting the impact of consistent effort and positive mindset. Compared to the first round of testing, many students improved across multiple areas. This progress reflects Elevate’s core value of excellence in physical fitness by striving for improvement and growth rather than perfection.

Students continue to challenge themselves and support each other in reaching new goals. We saw major improvement in leg strength during wall sit testing, with many students holding their positions longer than earlier this year, along with strong growth in core strength during curl-up testing. Our 8th graders also had an exciting mile run testing cycle, with many students setting new personal records. Whether improvements were small or large, students showed excellence by pushing themselves and celebrating their progress.

Students are now reviewing some of the sporting units we've completed this year to ensure mastery of some of the skills. They have done an excellent job increasing the amount of multi-contact rallies in volleyball, executing man on man defense in basketball, and strategically organizing their offensive plays in flag football.  We took a short break this week for some teamwork and sportsmanship tasks for kindness week and it was a blast getting to see groups work together to make connections with their new groups.

Whether you are wearing an Áo Dài or your standard school uniform, let’s join together in wishing our families a year full of prosperity and good fortune. Happy New Year!

SUPPORT DURING RAMADAN
As Ramadan approaches, we want to support students who will be fasting throughout the school day, including during lunch, PE, and middle school athletics. If your child will be fasting, please reach out to our Campus Dean (SM: mkazmierski@elevateschool.com, TS: jcopeland@elevateschool.com, EMS: skazmierski@elevateschool.com) so we can plan appropriate accommodations and care. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in supporting your child’s well-being.

MEALS FOR RAMADAN
Deadline to place order: Wed, Feb 11

If your child is participating in fasting for Ramadan, you may sign up for to-go breakfast and lunch meals for students to eat outside of the school day. Meals can be picked up in the office at the end of the school day. Get all the details in this post
