At Elevate, we are committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and peaceful learning environment where every student can thrive, regardless of their immigration status. In alignment with California model policies and the "Know your Educational Rights" guidelines, we want to ensure our families have access to clear information regarding their rights and protections in place at our school.
In support of this commitment, the Board has officially approved
Resolution 2026-1: Adoption of Attorney General's Model Policies which limits assistance with immigration enforcement. These policies are designed to ensure our campus remains a safe haven for all students by establishing clear protocols that limit cooperation with federal immigration officials to the fullest extent of the law.
-
The Right to Education: Every child in California has the right to a free public education.
-
Privacy Protections: Schools are prohibited from sharing student information for immigration enforcement purposes without a court order or parent consent.
-
Enrollment Information: Immigration status or Social Security numbers are never required for school enrollment.
-
Family Preparedness: Guidance on updating emergency contacts and creating safety plans to ensure your child is always cared for.
We encourage all families to keep their emergency contact information current with the school office to ensure we can always reach a trusted adult if needed. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school a welcoming place for everyone.
