WHAT A GREAT WEEK!
alt_text
Purple Up Week was a meaningful and joyful celebration of our military-connected students and families across our school community. Throughout the week, we intentionally created opportunities for students to feel seen, supported, and proud of their unique experiences. From spirit days to classroom conversations, the energy across campuses reflected a deep appreciation for the resilience and strength of our military families. Sharing meals, laughter, and time together during the school day created powerful moments of connection and reinforced the strong bond between home and school.

This week’s celebrations beautifully showcased the sense of connection and belonging we strive to foster every day. It was inspiring to see students light up as they participated in activities honoring their stories and experiences. We are grateful for the continued support of our families and staff; bringing this week to life is both a privilege and one of our greatest joys. While we wrap up the Month of the Military Child, our commitment to supporting and celebrating our military-connected students continues all year long.

With Deep Appreciations,
Mrs. Hinton and Mrs. Allison

STAFF SHOUT OUT

Ms. Otero and Ms. Klepacz participated on a panel interview for CAL-MSCS, which is a program designed to establish professional learning for teachers in math, science and computer science. Our teachers did an amazing job sharing about their experiences with Elevate's professional learning over the last few years in the area of math and the impact it has had on how they teach math and on student learning.

They represented Elevate well, and we are so proud of them!

STATE TESTING REMINDERS
For Grades 3-8

It’s hard to believe we’re at this point in the year, but California State Testing is just around the corner. All students, grades 3-8 will begin testing this Monday, April 27.

At home, there are several ways you can help set your child up for success:
  • A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast are essential for helping students stay focused and energized.
  • Encourage a calm morning routine with plenty of time to get to school.
  • Please limit video games.
  • Help ease any anxiety by practicing mindfulness techniques together, like deep breathing or quiet time before bed.
  • Most importantly, let your child know that you believe in them!
Please know that our team is here to support every student, and we approach this time with care, confidence, and the belief that every child has something to be proud of.

Please Note:
Students in grades 3-8 are encouraged to bring in headphones with cords for state testing (please bring them to school by Monday, April 27). Students prefer using their own, and we want them to be most comfortable. Headphones must have a cord. No cordless bluetooth headphones are allowed for testing. If your child does not have headphones with a cord, we will loan them a school headphone. However, students generally do not prefer to use those.

If you have any questions, please ask your child’s teacher.

WHOLE SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY
Friday, May 15
Get ready to stay cozy all day long! On Cozy Spirit Day, students are invited to come to school dressed in their favorite pajamas or comfy loungewear. Think soft pajama sets, cozy sweatpants and tops, and fun prints—anything that helps bring extra comfort while still being ready to learn.

We chose this spirit day as a little way to help students relax and recharge during a busy season of testing. Our 3rd–8th grade students will be in the middle of a month full of assessments, and our younger students will also be working hard on end-of-year testing. We hope this fun and cozy day gives everyone a boost of comfort and encouragement as they do their best!

Friendly Reminder: P.E./recess-appropriate shoes are required, and all attire should remain school-appropriate.
