Middle School Math with Ms. Ashby

As we approach the end of the school year, students have officially wrapped up learning all of the grade-level units and have been focusing on reviewing and strengthening the skills they have learned throughout the year. Our 8th grade students participated in a collaborative spiral review competition called Island Survival Games, while our 7th grade students took part in Space Games. During these activities, students worked in teams to review grade-level standards, study together, and complete “Mastery Checks” to demonstrate their understanding of each concept. Each mastered standard earned points for their team, and students also had opportunities to compete in end-of-week games for bonus points.

These review activities have been a fun and engaging way for students to prepare for the state test while practicing collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. It has been wonderful to see students supporting one another, sharing strategies, and pooling their knowledge to help their teammates succeed. The positive teamwork and effort shown throughout these games have been impressive.

Looking ahead, students will soon begin working on their end-of-year projects. These projects will showcase the creativity, learning, and growth students have demonstrated this year and will be displayed during Exhibition Night. We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate our students’ hard work and accomplishments. Thank you, as always, for your continued support throughout the school year!

Our Groovy End of the Year Field Days are just around the corner for our K–5 students, and this year’s theme is all about fun, color, and good vibes!

Students will rotate through a variety of exciting stations, including games, bubbles, and art activities—so come ready to move, create, and cool off! Some stations will include opportunities to get wet, adding to the fun of this end-of-year celebration.

Important: Please send in a white item for all K-5 students to be tie-dyed by Tuesday, May 12.
-- This could be a t-shirt, socks, a bandana, a pillowcase, or a hand towel - no large towels.
-- Please pre-wash the item and send it in a bag labeled with your child’s name. Prewashing helps the dyes absorb.
-- If you are unable to send in an item, that’s ok; we will make sure everyone has something to tie-dye.

All Field Day Details here!
