| Supporting SM Campus Students |
|
Every day I come to school excited to work with students who are eager to learn and eager to lead. I am also very lucky to be able to work closely with some other members of our school: the flexible, hard-working support teachers on the Serra Mesa campus! If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet them yet, the team includes Ms. Kayla, Ms. Scott, Ms. Tiana, Ms. Julie, Ms. Gaby, Ms. Riley, Mrs. Wolff, Mr. Mason, and Mrs. Butler. Our support staff works hard in and out of the classrooms of Elevate. In classrooms they help reduce the student to teacher ratio and allow teachers to structure more small-group learning opportunities. We also strategically use these staff members to run targeted small group interventions in reading and math. At other times, you can find the support staff supervising the eating area and the playground, and they are the smiling faces that you likely see at arrival and dismissal. The support team is a valuable asset to our school. We look forward to partnering with you to ensure that Elevate students reach their full potential at school. If you have any questions regarding our amazing staff, feel free to reach out to me.

| WHOLE SCHOOL SPIRIT DAYS |
Unity Day - Wednesday, October 21 Wear Orange (accessories) and Spread Kindness! Join us on October 21st for Unity Day, a day to show that everyone belongs at Elevate. All students, TK-8th grade, are invited to wear orange accessories, like a ribbon, bandana, socks, or shoes to show their support for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Regular Elevate Uniform to be worn.
Orange is the color of Unity Day because it stands for hope and a united message against bullying. Small acts add up, so we hope every student will look for a way to include someone, offer a kind word, or simply say hello to a classmate they don't usually talk to.
Together, we can make our schools places where everyone feels welcome. We hope to see a sea of orange!
Costumes or Orange & Black - Friday, October 30 Students are invited to participate in our Whole-School Spirit Day by either wearing a costume or the colors, orange and black! For those who would like to dress up, please note the following guidelines for costumes:
- Costumes must be comfortable and allow students to sit and participate in all daily activities.
- Costumes should be school-appropriate and respectful of others.
- No dangerous or potentially hazardous props are permitted.
- Masks are not allowed.
- Students need to wear shoes that are playground and PE-appropriate.
Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and enjoyable spirit day for everyone! |
