| What Makes TS Terrific? WE DO! |
|
Every morning at line-up, I ask our students, “What makes TS terrific?” Their response comes back loud and proud: “WE DO!” And they are absolutely right! This week, I want to introduce five adults who help our students feel that truth every day: our incredible TS Super Support team.
Ms. Davis supports fourth-grade reading and math intervention (RTI) this year. She has a special skill for recognizing exactly where a student is getting stuck and finding a way to help learning click. She also leads Ellevation arts and crafts, giving students another place to create, connect, and shine.
Ms. Bri, our newest team member, supports fifth-grade RTI and brings such joy to learning. When students are cheering as they work through math, you know something wonderful is happening! She delights in their progress and helps make hard work something worth celebrating.
Ms. Mikki, affectionately known as “Miracle Mikki,” makes her magic through thoughtful preparation and a remarkable ability to build confidence. From picture-supported, color-coded notes to just the right words of encouragement, she helps students see what they CAN do. And her gift for helping people believe in themselves extends to our staff, too!
Mr. Webber works with students in both fourth and fifth grade toward their learning goals, bringing encouragement and connection along the way. He also leads Ellevation basketball and coaches at EMS. At recess, you might catch him racing students…because building relationships sometimes means putting on your running shoes!
Ms. Silvia supports our fifth-grade learners with care and connection. You will often find her at recess trading jokes or creating a special handshake with a student. Those individual connections send a powerful message: I know you. You matter.
As Dean, I get to see how much this team pours into our campus minute by minute. They work alongside teachers, celebrate growth, help students through challenges, and live our core values of Excellence, Leadership, Justice, and Community. They share a belief that guides how we care for students: they are ALL our kids. We simply could not do what we do without them.
Please join me in showing Mr. Webber, Ms. Mikki, Ms. Davis, Ms. Bri, and Ms. Silvia some love. At home, ask your child, "In addition to your teacher, who is someone who helps you with learning or at recess?” I suspect you will hear a story worth celebrating.
With JOY & Gratitude, Juel Adriana Copeland TS Dean of Students
